literate and visually-oriented people since they 
have an unconscious bias to approach everything 
in terms of its “content.” Thus the Watergate 
affair is only incidentally a political revolution and 
is, in fact, a change in the entire perceptual and 
imaginative life of our Western, and especially 
American, world. At electric speed of information 
movement, for example, the individual ego and 
identity is enormously reduced in proportion as it 
becomes deeply involved in the social lives of
